As a learner, you can create a password-protected portfolio of your work, and practice your writing skills in a journal that you keep online. PBS Learning Media is a free digital media service for educational use, brought to you by the New York State public broadcasting stations and their partners. This site provides access to thousands of media resources, support materials, tools for classroom lessons, and individualized learning programs. These videos provide instruction and include all of the five subject areas on the HSE/TASCā¢ test. Visit the Khan Academy website (link is external). Learn at your own pace with this free resource that offers 3,100 videos and hundreds of skills to practice. Visit the New York Online Virtual Electronic Library (link is external) to access a wide variety of resources including the Adult Learning Center and JobNow, a unique service that features expert resume assistance, live interview preparation and career coaching. On the toolbar, click ‘What’s Included’, then click ‘JobNow/AdultLearning Center’. Visit the WE ARE NEW YORK (link is external) website created by the NYC Office of Human Capital Development and the City University of New York’s Office of Academic Affairs to access a series of half-hour TV episodes to assist ESL students in practicing English. Visit the Media Library of Teaching Skills (MLOTS) (link is external) for Adult Learning and Literacy, which is a free, online digital library of short videos for use in adult education professional development.
